This guide highlights some of our books about Charles Darwin, evolution, and his trip to the Galapagos. Try the buttons on the left to navigate to books about the different subjects you might be studying. You'll also want to find additional books, movies, and other content in our collection. Keep reading to learn how to do that.
To find books through the Library, start by searching Minerva, the Library's catalog. You can search by title, keyword, or author, and it will automatically search for items that are owned by MMA. This will provide you with results of items you can access at the Library. To broaden the search to other libraries, you can set the library to "All Minerva Libraries," and it will then search all other Minerva libraries. To broaden further to the University of Maine system and Colby/Bates/Bowdoin, click "Search MaineCat" from the results page or an item's record.
To request books, click "Request" in the item's record, and then enter your name and barcode, which is the barcode on the back of your ID card preceded by "mma": eg. mma000012345. It will confirm whether the request was successful. We receive book deliveries twice weekly, and you will receive an email notification when the item is received at the Library.
There are many online articles, books, and other content that you'll want to use throughout your studies here. Use the search box to search many of our databases simultaneously. If you're having trouble finding what you're looking for, try some of the individual databases listed below! Ask for help at the Library or make an appointment with your Librarian to learn more.
