Teaching Resources

This guide is intended to provide inspiration and resources for improving or reflecting on your teaching practice here at MMA.

It is organized thematically, according to the various aspects of teaching. This introductory page includes some sources for general advice for developing your teaching practice. The next section, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, brings together a wide range of resources on both teaching practice and the science of learning that have been published in scholarly journals. It is organized by teaching subject (e.g., Composition and Humanities, Chemistry, Engineering and Applied Science, etc.). The Course Design page includes resources for syllabus construction and assignment design. The Instructional Methods page is focused on active learning, both practical techniques and the scholarly literature that attests to their effectiveness. The Equity and Inclusion page contains web-based resources and books about making your teaching accessible to people of all backgrounds. The Academic Integrity page lists books giving theoretical and practical treatments of plagiarism and cheating in college. The Automation & Artificial Intelligence page gathers web resources on the place of automation in teaching and learning.
